FC Barcelona Set to Play First Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition 30 months after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Recent Activities
The club conducted a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side in December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
