The loved ones of teens unaccounted for after a tragic inferno at a bar in a Switzerland's alpine town are facing an painful wait for answers and appealing for information about their loved ones online.

The inferno ripped through the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of New Year's Day. Confirmed images depict the ceiling igniting as beverages with sparklers are held aloft.

Emergency services have indicated that it could take considerable time to identify the those who perished of the disaster, which resulted in the death of numerous partygoers and hurt another 119. Authorities noted on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been identified, with efforts ongoing to identify the final individuals.

In the interim, families and friends have been using the internet to request clues about their friends who were in attendance that evening.

Desperate Searches for the Missing

The whereabouts of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, 16, are currently unknown, according to an public plea from his mother.

"A close friend said they ran away after the fire started and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a specific moment he lost sight of him," she explained, adding he had been wearing a identifiable gold chain.

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Swiss and Greek nationality but lives permanently in the country, was also present on New Year's Eve, according to media.

Her brother has shared an urgent request on social media, saying the family has had "no information" regarding the teenager or the group she was with, who are also unaccounted for.
