The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The author

Best-selling children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, the company has said.

An official for the firm commented: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of questionable actions directed at women.

The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

He has published over four dozen titles in total, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
