Trump's Business Sought to Bring In Almost 200 Employees on Visas in 2025

The former president’s corporate entity accelerated its recruitment of foreign workers on short-term work permits this year, even as his government was creating barriers for other businesses wanting to do the identical, a report released recently stated.

Based on information from the US Department of Labor, the Trump Organization sought to hire at least 184 foreign workers in the coming year for short-term roles at the former president’s Florida property, two golf clubs and his winery in Virginia.

The quantity of applications for temporary work visas covering staff including servers, office assistants, cleaning staff, kitchen staff and farm workers was the highest ever filed by the organization, and increased from 121 in 2021, when his presidency concluded.

It was also the fifth time in 10 years that Trump had attempted to hire over a hundred foreign employees for temporary positions at his Florida resort, based on available data.

The disclosure comes amid a crackdown on legal immigration by his government that has included the implementation of a substantial charge on skilled worker visas; extra scrutiny of the activities of the 55 million people who already hold US visas; and tighter regulations for foreign students and reporters.

In total, the Trump Organization aimed to hire over 560 overseas workers over the period Trump has been in the White House, from 2017 to 2021 and during 2025.

Notably, the former president was criticized by some in the GOP this week for remarks defending the need for foreign workers when a company was unable to find people with “particular skills” to occupy particular roles.

“You cannot just say a nation is coming in, going to invest billions to construct a plant, and going to recruit individuals off an unemployment line who haven’t worked in years, and they’re going to start making their missiles. It isn’t feasible that effectively,” he told a host after it was implied that overseas employees lower the pay of US workers.

The White House declined a request for response, and the Trump Organization did not provide an answer to an request for information.
