Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the passing of his two close friends.”
